Purnima is shining in Nepali music industry

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 3: Singer Purnima Lama ,who has been singing since her childhood, has now emerged as a strong pillar in the Nepali music industry. Active in the Nepali music field for almost a decade and a half, Purnima  has sung about 500 songs over the years.

Born in Dhading in 1997, she has completed her school education from Shree Bageshwori Higher Secondar School, Baireni, Dhading. 

She grew up in a musical family. Her two sisters Mina Lama and Nirmala Lama are folk singers.

She said that she was inspired to enter the field of music from her family and modern singers. 

 Her songs Hijo Samman Malai Maya, Danda Pari Mero Maya, Aama, Bhagyaleni Chalchha, Mutu Jali Kharani Bho, Phul Bhanau Jindagilai have been successful to draw the attention of audience across Nepal.

After the immense success of her songs, she has already performed in fairs held in home  and abroad.

 She has also been  honoured by various organisations for her important contribution to the advancement of the Nepali music sector.

Lama has received several national level awards, including the fifth National Rapti Music Award 2073 for the best new singer category, the first Nepal Music Award 2075 for the best new singer category, 11th  Bindhyabasini Music Awards 2077 for the best singer category, and the ninth music Khabar Music Award 2078 for the best singer category. 

Lama has reached more than a dozen countries including Korea, Hongkong, Qatar, Dubai and Malaysia for her performance. 

She feels blessed to be in the music field and she plans to continue her career in music by singing more songs.
