Book on 100 inspiring women published

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 2: A book has been published containing the stories of 100 women who have made special contributions to the Nepali society through their hard works.

Rotary RI District 3292 has published the book highlighting  the contributions of selected 100 women to the country's development from enterprise, social service, police, military, administration, state level and private sector in all seven provinces of Nepal.

The women included in the book are Sunita Dangol, Manju Mishra, Kabita Thapa, Rupa Khadka, Parina Limbu, Benju Saroj, Basumaya Tamang and Bidhya Neupane among others.

Kabita Thapa is a photo journalist of Gorkhapatra Corporation.

Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol honoured all the women whose success stories were included in the book by presenting one book to each honouree  amid a programme held in the capital on Saturday. 

Dangol said that by giving place to her story in the book, Rotary District  has appreciated the work of women and promoted the tradition of appreciating the contributions of women to the society.

Dangol said, “The role played by a woman in different positions of her age is special, and today I am  still inspired by this book as my contributes to the country are included in the book.”

Rotarian Sumira Shrestha, member of the Rotary District Committee, informed that the book was published to recognise the contributions of Nepali women from their respective regions to the Nepali society.

She said that the book was published with the aim of introducing the women who inspire others through their actions in different fields and occupations.

The 100 Women Stories book includes the stories of the struggles and achievements made by women of all seven provinces.
