COVID infection detected in Banke

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Banke, Dec. 31: A new COVID-19 patient has been detected in Banke after three months. A 30-year-old woman from Jajarkot district, who was returning home from India via Jamunaha border in Nepalgunj, has been tested positive for COVID-19. 

 According to Tej Oli, contact person at the District COVID-19 Management Centre, they detected the first COVID-19 case in Banke after September 17.

In the last few days, attention has been paid to control COVID-19 by setting up check-ups desk at the border point. Earlier, the screening was halted as no COVID-19 case was detected for the last three months. 

A meeting of the District COVID-19 Management Centre was called on Thursday after COVID-19 infection was detected after three months. 

The meeting also decided to take concrete and effective steps to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection. The meeting also decided to tighten the health check-up at the border points and urged the general public to follow the health standards.

"Due to the shortage of COVID-19 booster doses in the district, it has been decided to demand it at the centre," said Oli.The local levels are also preparing to conduct awareness programmes against COVID-19 at the local level and conduct campaigns to comply with health standards.
