BY OUR CORRESPONDET,Makwanpur / Janakpur, Dec. 30: Senior-most member of Bagmati Province Assembly Ram Prasad Dhungana administered the oath 109 assembly members on Thursday, informed Bagmati Province Assembly secretary Krishna Hari Khadka.
Dhungana, 72, had won the election to the Provincial Assembly from Nuwakot Constituency 2 (A).
Earlier on Wednesday, Bagmati Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dhungana, senior-most member of the Bagmati Province Assembly.
According to the Constitution of Nepal, newly elected Provincial Assembly members must take the oath of office and secrecy before attending any Provincial Assembly meeting and joining any committee.
The Council of Minister of Bagmati province had also recommended convening the meeting of the Provincial Assembly.
A meeting of the Council of Minister held on Wednesday evening recommended Province Chief Sharma to summon the session of the Provincial Assembly on January 2, informed provincial government spokesperson and Internal Affairs and Law Minster Krishna Prasad Sharma.
Meanwhile, the newly elected senior-most member of Madhes Province Assembly took the oath of office and secrecy on Thursday.
The office of Provincial Assembly of Madhes informed that Province Chief Hari Shankar Mishra administered oath to senior-most assembly member Gobinda Bahadur Neupane.
Likewise, Neupane, 71, will administer the oath of office and secrecy to other assembly members on Friday, informed secretary of the Province Assembly Secretariat Ranjit Kumar Yadav.
He added that of 107 Provincial Assembly members in Madhes Province Assembly, two would not be able to take the oath as cases were filed against them in court. Assembly members from the CPN (Maoist Centre) Mala Kumari Karna and Mohammad Raji Haider will not be administered the oath, he added.
