blog

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Sarlahi, Dec. 28: A newborn baby has been found abandoned in Provincial Hospital of Malangawa, Sarlahi.  A pregnant woman who came to the hospital on Monday afternoon absconded after giving birth to a baby boy. Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Nawal Kishore Jha said that the mother had left the hospital after delivering the infant in the toilet of the hospital.

The infant has been kept in the One-stop Crisis Management Centre (OCMC) on the hospital premises. Dr. Jha informed that the infant was in good health condition. It is suspected that the infant might have been born through illicit relationship. Chief of Sarlahi Police and Deputy Superintendent Bijay Yadav said that further investigation into the incident and search of the mother was being carried out.

Though the mother was accompanied by another woman while arriving at the hospital, neither of them has been identified yet.  Sarlahi chief district officer Thaneshwor Gautam informed that the hospital staff, nurse and OCMC staff had been taking care of the infant.
