Over Rs. 250 million invested in private schools of Rukum West

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,WEST REUKUM, Dec. 20: Over Rs. 250 million has been invested in private and boarding schools in West Rukum.  According to the Private and Boarding School’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON), Rukum West,  Rs. 251.9 million has been invested for overall management and  physical infrastructure development of the private and boarding schools in the district. 

Bimal Sharma, president of PABSON, said that the investment was made for the improvement of education sector and to provide quality education to students. Now, 21 of 24 private and boarding schools operating in Rukum West are affiliated with the PABSON while three are yet to be associated with it, he said.

Among those associated with PABSON, six are secondary and 15 are primary schools, Sharma said, adding that 6,221 students are studying in these schools.  Likewise, 341 teachers and employees are working in the private and boarding schools, according the annual report of PABSON. 

Altogether,  629 students of the private and boarding schools received scholarship, a report presented at the 8th general meeting of PABSON at Musikot, the headquarters of the district, showed. 

According to Sharma, private schools are in operation  in all local levels of the district with  Musikot, the district headquarters, having the largest number of private schools. Khadak Bahadur Kunwar, president of  PABSON, Karnali Province, however, said that the students studying in the private schools are deprived of reservation seat and scholarship provided for higher education and the scholarships provided by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).   The building of Sisne Academic Private Limited, a private school in Musikot, and its students.
