By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 20: The newly elected leadership of the National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal (NARMIN) has expressed willingness to collaborate with the Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC) to strengthen local governance.
NARMIN Chairperson Laxmi Pande and Treasurer Umesh Prasad Bhatta ‘Bikas’ expressed their readiness in a programme organised by Gorkhapatra’s Executive Chairman Bishnu Prasad Subedi and General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi in their honour at the GC office in Dharmapath, Kathmandu on Monday. Pande said that the mass media played an important role in making local levels strong and effective.
Subedi said that Gorkhapatra was ready to extend all necessary assistance to make the local governance system strong, capable and more effective. Airi also said that the Corporation would help facilitate the flow of information at the local level.
