Late Kamal Prakash Malla’s Memoir launched

BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Dec. 19: Dr. Achyut Bahadur Rajbhandari, Dr.Heramba Bahadur Rajbhandari and Ananda Siddhi Tuladhar, the three childhood friends of late Kamal Prakash Malla, collectively launched Kamal Prakash Malla Memoir in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The book covers late K.P. Malla’s works, his contributions to Nepal Bhasa literature and the memories of Malla shared by other scholars, professors and Malla’s friends.

K.P. Malla was a leading figure in academia and intellectual life. Malla was a versatile scholar who dominated the academic landscape in Nepal for several decades. Cwasa Pasa (classical Newari dictionary with around 30,000 head words published in the year 2000 AD) is one of the remarkable landmarks of Malla. 

Stating that Malla was a public intellectual,  former vice chancellor of Tribhuwan University Dr. Kedar Bhakta Mathema said that Malla had contributed significantly to the Nepal Bhasa literature.  The memoir of 89 pages is priced at Rs. 200.
