Kawaswoti, Dec 11 : The Pashupati Sangaveda Residential School located at Devchuli in eastern Nawalparasi has a compulsion to host dhanadhanyanchal – a function to raise fund to meet regular expenses of the school.
Established on
the day of Ramnawami (the birthday of Lord Ram) in April 1990 to promote
Sanskrit education, the school is now offering residential education from grade
6 to 10.
Every year
locals have been organizing such a fund raising event to manage expenses for
the daily operation of the school.
School
management committee chair Haribhakta Bhattarai shared the mahayagya has been
organized to generate funds to meet expenses involved in the school for food
and accommodation of the residential students. This year too, the school in
cahoots with locals has hosted an All Nepal Saints Conference and Shatachandi
Gyan Mahayagya since December 9, he informed.
Bhattarai
further shared that as many as 70 students are pursuing their education from
grade 6-10 in the school. He complained that the school has not received any
support from government except salary and allowance for eight teachers.
"The local
and province governments are merely providing bit and piece support and small
scale grants. However, school requires regular expenses for residential education
and accommodations. So, we are compelled to host such fund raising event to
garner support from local people".
It may be noted
that Shree 1008 Swami Sachchidanda Puri had established the school at
Devchuli-15 as part of his plan to preserve Vedic literature and culture.
Locals have
called for the governments to pay attention to manage expenses for the regular
operation of the school. (RSS)
