By Nabin Shishir BK, Baglung, Dec.10: The Dhaulagiri Hospital has successfully completed the targeted free uterus surgery of 36 women by adding the needed financial support itself.
Rs 13,000 was separated for each woman who suffered from a uterus falling out for free uterus surgery. However, that money becomes inadequate for surgery as a single surgery cost Rs 20,000 for surgery specialists’ teams were called from outside districts. Therefore, the hospital came forward with financial assistance to accommodate all surgeries.
Laxmi GC Karki, a member of the Dhaulagiri Hospital management committee said that there are no specialized doctors in the districts, so specialized doctors were called from outside the district to perform the intended free surgeries because of which allocated money by the government become insufficient.
Tej Raj Gautam, Administrative Officer at the hospital said, “We added the amount realizing responsibilities towards citizens. It is not easy to add money when the finances hospital is suffering. We have coordinated with the local bodies for the reimbursement.”
36 women underwent free surgery in a camp conducted from December 8-9.
