Six candidates of Rukum East submit election expenditure

By Jayaman Buda Magar, Rukum (East), Dec. 6: Six candidates of the total 18 candidates in the election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA)  from Rukum East have furnished details of the election expenditure. 

Three candidates of HoR and three of PA had submitted their election details, while, the remaining 12 candidates are yet to submit their election expenditures. 

According to the District Election Commission Office, Kailash Kumar Malla of CPN (UML), Khim Bahadur Khatri of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Bal Bahadur Buda of Nationalist People's Party have submitted the details of election expenditure. 

Tej Kumar Oli, District Election Officer, said that CPN (UML)’s Malla spent Rs 386,585, Khatri of RPP spent Rs 125,040, and Buda of Nationalist People's Party spent Rs 246,040 in the election. 

Likewise, Tej Kumar Oli, a candidate of the CPN (Maoist Centre) from Rukum East ‘A’ spent Rs 1,895,715. 

Two candidates, Dhan Bahadur KC of Nepali Congress and Bhawana Budhathoki of CPN (UML) Rukum (East) have submitted election expenditures. NC’s KC spent Rs 1,302, 527 and CPN (UML)’s Budhathoki spent Rs 360, 045 in the election campaign. 

The Election Commission has fixed a ceiling of Rs 2.7 million for the HoR and Rs 1.7 million for the PA election in Rulum East as the amount for a candidate to spend in the poll campaign. Recently, the EC asked the candidates to present the election expenditure within 35 days of the announcement of the election result.
