UML leading, NC second, CPN MC in third position

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec.1: CPN (UML) has maintained a lead in the proportional representational vote count by receiving more than 2.7 million votes.

So far, a total of 10,309,837 votes have been counted in PR.  

According to the data provided by the Election Commission (EC), CPN (UML) has grabbed the first spot with 2,747,334 votes while the incumbent ruling party Nepali Congress is in the second position with 2,615,590 votes. 

CPN (Maoist Centre) is situated in the third position with 1,157,808 votes, while Rashtriya Swatantra Party has scored 1, 112,852 votes.  

Similarly, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party received 583,884 votes while Janata Samajbadi Party received 419,788 votes. Janamat Party received 393,264 votes followed by the CPN (Unified Socialist) with 293,799 votes. 

People's Freedom Party received 270, 643 votes, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party received 166, 960 votes, Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party received 74,996 votes, Hamro Nepali Party received 55,323 votes, Mangol National Organization received 48,165 votes, Rashtriya Janamorcha received 46,257 votes, Nepal Federal Socialist Party received 41,707 votes, NCP(Marxist Leninist) received 30,348 votes, Rashtriya Janamukti Party received 23,445 votes, People's Progressive Party received 18,036 votes, Nepal Ama Party received 17,808  votes, Sanghiya Loktantrik Rashtriya Manch received 17,752votes, Bahujan Ekta Party Nepal received 17,056 votes, Nepali Congress (BP) received 12,431 votes, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party received 12,250 votes, Nepali Janata Party received 9,911 votes, Bahujan Shakti Party received 9,433 votes,  Nepal’s Party for Nepal received 8,376 votes, Nepal Communist Party received 7,967 votes, Nepal Janata Party  received 7,496 votes, Nepal Democratic Party received 7,391 votes and Nepal Communist Party Marxist(Puspa Kamal) received 7,331 votes. 

Miteri Party Nepal received 7,039 votes, Jana Jagaran Party received 6,510 votes, Nepal Aamul Pariwartan Mashiha Party received 6,377 votes, Terai–Madhesh Loktantrik Party received 5,963 votes. 

People's Socialist Party received 5,834 votes; Single sign guitar received 5,763 Background Nisad Dalit Janajati Party received 5,015 votes.

Bibeksheel Sajha Party received 4,020 votes, Nepal Communist Party Maoist Socialist received 3,684 votes, Federal Democratic National Forum – Tharuhat received 3,394 votes, Rashtriya Mukti Movement received 3,323 votes, Maulik Jarokilo Party received 3,195 votes, Nepal Federal Socialist Party received 2,735 votes, Nepal Communist Party received 2,178 votes.

Rashtriya Nagarik Party received 2,120 votes while the National People’s Party received 2,007 votes

Parties need to secure at least one seat from first-past-the-post (FPTP) and at least needs to receive three per cent of the total votes cast in the proportional election system to be a national party of Nepal.
