Construction of concrete school buildings delights Jumla locals

By Netra Shahi, Jumla,Dec.1: After a long time, Kalika Secondary School of Badki, a remote village in Jumla district, has been shifted to 

comfortable new concrete school buildings. 

Two buildings which were built under the National Planning Commission and the President's Educational Reform Programme were inaugurated simultaneously.

According to Purna Bahadur Shahi, Chairman of the School Management Committee, a four-room-concrete building has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.8 million in the financial support from the National Planning Commission.

Likewise, a two-room building has also been constructed under the Presidential Educational Reform Programme.  

The newly constructed buildings were inaugurated by Hima Rural Municipality chairman Lakshman Bahadur Shahi recently. 

Speaking at the inauguration programme, rural municipality chairman Shahi said that the municipality had given special priority to the education sector. 

He ,further,   said that priority would be given to make Kalika Secondary School of Badki a model school in the district.  He also stressed the need for developing physical infrastructure and human resources of the school.

Lanka Badur Shahi, a member of the Nepali Congress Provincial Committee, said that everyone's cooperation was necessary for improving the quality of education.  

He also said, “It is necessary to respect and honour to  those who established the school.” 

Ward Chairman Ratan Bahadur Shahi promised to give priority to the quality of  education in the school.

A teacher of the school, Khamwa Shahi, appealed to the people's representatives, parents, teachers and concerned bodies to work together to support the educational development of the school.

On the same occasion, the school family bade farewell to Headmaster  Khadak Bahadur Shahi of Kalika Secondary School, Badki. Shahi, the only student who passed SLC in 2039 from Bhairav ​​Secondary School Narakot in the Sinja region, worked as Headmaster  in the school for 21 years.

Shahi, who has served as a teacher for 39 years, expressed his commitment to working for the educational development of the school even after his retirement from the job of a teacher.
