Katari, Nov 22: Ambar Bahadur Rayamajhi of CPN UML has won the election to the member of House of Representatives from constituency no 2 of Udayapur district, receiving 15,251 votes.
His closest rival Jagannath Khatiwada representing the ruling four-party coalition came second with 12,893 votes. Khatiwa is the deputy general-secretary of CPN (Unified Socialist).
Similarly, independent candidate Ram Kumar Rai finished third with 10,300 votes, according to the Office of the Returning Officer in Katari.
Election officer Jivan Kumar Bhandari shared that a total of 44,875 votes were cast in the constituency no 2 in the district having four rural municipalities and a municipality.(RSS)
