Top five nominees for 4th Sagarmatha Music Award announced

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Nov. 22: The best five nominees of the 4th ‘Sagarmatha Music Awards 2079’ have been announced.

Issuing a statement,  organiser Artha  announced the best five music  awards on Sunday. 

The popular riding sharing app ‘Sahara App’ is the main sponsor of the award to be presented by Jyoti Development Bank.  The main slogan of the award is 'Respecting Nepali art and creators, preservation and promotion of Nepali culture is our mission'. 

 The organiser is planning to distribute award in 34 disciplines of music.

The award will be given in the categories including national, movie, pop, folk and duet songs.  Manoj Thapa, programme coordinator, will announce the winner based on the vote and jury committee's vote in the award, read a press statement issued on Sunday. 

The head of the programme, Purushottam Basnet, informed that a special person who has contributed to the field of Nepali music will be presented the Life Time Achievement Award in the 4th Sahara App Everest Music Award. 

Programme director Kushal Khatri has informed that  journalists who wield pen in the field of Nepali art will also be honoured. 

Male singers including Ravi Oad, Pratap Dash, Suresh Lama, Bishwo Nepali and Ketan Chhetri are competing for the best film song. 

Likewise, female singers including Prabisha Adhikari, Asmita Adhikari, Melina Rai, Milan Newar and Deeksha Joshi Thapa are competing for the best female singer of the film song.
