Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs to visit Nepal from Nov 20 to observe poll

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 17: State Minister for foreign affairs of Japan TAKEI Shunsuke is scheduled to visit Nepal from November 20 to 21, 2022. 

According to the press release of the Embassy of Japan issued today, he is visiting to observe the election of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly, which is being held on November 20, 2022.

Minister Takei will be the highest dignitary to be dispatched as an election observer in Nepal on half of Japan.  

Takei is also scheduled to pay courtesy calls to the high dignitaries of Nepal during his stay in Nepal.

Before this, a team led by former Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan HORII Iwao had taken part in the election observation in 2017.

The press release stated that the government of Japan recognizes the importance of the upcoming election in Nepal will be held in a fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
