IED goes off near ruling coalition's assembly spot

By TRN Online, Bhojpur, Nov. 16: An improvised explosive device (IED) has gone off near an election rally of the ruling coalition at Tiwaribhanjyang, Pauvadung Rural Municipality-2 in Bhojpur.

CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ among other ruling coalition leaders is scheduled to address the assembly.

Hari Prasad Ghimire, Chief District Officer of Bhojpur, said that the IED was found some 40 meters away from the meeting assembly at the roadside kept inside a tiffin box.

No senior leaders have arrived at the assembly area as yet.

CDO Ghimire said that the bomb exploded when a cadre of CPN (Biplav) led by Netra Bikram Chand, Suman Shrestha, was carrying it and that it was a mobile bomb kept inside a tiffin box. Shrestha was himself injured at calf when the bomb exploded.

The CDO said that the police have taken Shrestha under control.

An election rally of the CPN (UML) has also been organized near the explosion place.
