Kathmandu, Nov. 12: Tribhuvan Army Club overcame Nepal Police Club by two wickets on Friday and set up the title showdown with APF Club at PM CUP One Day National.

Riding on the century of its Captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Police forwarded a mammoth 304-run victory target to Army at TU Cricket Ground.

Army spoiled the hundred-run mark of Airee by achieving the target with one ball to spare. The win sent the Army Club to the final of the PM Cup for the fifth consecutive time.

The final against the undefeated APF Club will be held on Saturday at TU Cricket Ground.

Rajesh Pulami Magar smashed a six in the penultimate ball to kill the match for Army in a fashion. The Army needed two runs from two balls and Magar hit Captain Airee for a maximum.

Pacer Karan KC dismissed two wickets in the 49th over to swing the match in favour of the Police. However, Player of the match Magar held his nerve to cruise Army home by smashing 12 runs in the last overs. Magar clubbed three fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 37-ball 43 knocks.

Middle order Rohit Paudel scored the highest 87-ball 89 and Opener Hari Chauhan hit 75 runs off 92 balls in the cruise control of the Army. Skipper Binod Bhandari (32) and Bikram Sob (30) also played their part with the bat.

Pacer Karan KC claimed six wickets for the Police but could not stop Army from the victory.

Earlier, All-rounder Airee bludgeoned five maximums and 11 fences in his 140 run off 125 balls to help Police collect a huge total.  Aarif Sheikh also slammed eight fences and two sixes to impress with not out 109-ball 91.

Kushal Bhurtel (31) was another significant contributor to the Police.

Bikram Sob claimed three wickets for the Army.
