The House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on November 20 this year in a single phase.

Deuba is also taking stock about the election situation and party's election-oriented activities for the poll. According to NC leader Govindaraj Joshi, Deuba urged him to call off his candidacy as an independent candidate and run the election representing the ruling coalition.

"The party President summoned me today and asked me to withdraw my candidacy as an independent candidate. He asked me to join the NC which I turned down, saying I have already move ahead towards this and let me contest the election as an independent candidate," Joshi shared.

Joshi is contesting from Kailali constituency no 3 for Province Assembly member. NC's Laxman Shahi is also running as an independent candidate from the same constituency while the ruling coalition has given ticket to Amar Bahadur Saud of CPN (Unified Socialist).

NC's youth leader Kshitiz Bhandari resigned from his party and is contesting as an independent candidate to Province Assembly from Kailali constituency no 5 (Dhangadi area).
