NC publishes election manifesto in Madhes Province

Janakpur, Nov. 7: Nepali Congress Madhesh Province released election manifesto of the province on Sunday targeting the election on November 20. The 10-point manifesto includes several programmes for protection, stability and development of the constitution. 

The Madhesh government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress is preparing for the upliftment of Muslims and backward classes within it, it targets strengthening inter-provincial relations, inter-provincial relations and overall development of the province. 

It has been mentioned that the base of development will be decided maintaining consensus among political parties. It targets making corruption-free administration under democracy and good governance, and the Chief Minister’s Monthly Durbar programme will be conducted.

Similarly, under the economic development of ‘Let’s reduce imports, increase exports’, it is mentioned that arrangements will be made for the development of the agricultural sector in the development of domestic food, irrigation in farms, free electricity tariff for irrigation purposes, management of road network, provision of reasonable price adjustment subsidy, non-resident loans, etc. Programmes like development of Janakpur-Dhalkewar Industrial Corridor for trade and industry, the necessary initiatives to connect Jayanagar to Janakpur Birgunj directly with the Indian rail network have been prioritized in the document.

Similarly, temple management programmes like Janaki Temple, Chinnamasta Bhagwati Temple, Dhanushadham Jaleshwarnath Temple, Bhathadham, Paroulasthan, Salhesh Phulwari, Gadhimai, Gahwai Temple premises will be physically enhanced for the promotion of tourism and culture, and the initiation of bus operation from Janakpur to Ayodhya is also included in it. 

Under the customs management, initiatives will be taken to allocate maximum amount of customs in the province, priority has been given to build an ICD in one district of Madhesh Province. Training centres will be established in Rajbiraj, Janakpur, and Birgunj to develop necessary skills for workers going for foreign employment, public service preparation classes will be managed in every district, labour banks will be established, etc.

In the same way, it has taken a goal of providing ‘household electricity, house-to-house water and house-to-house communication’ in physical infrastructure. Under this, it has been said that the postal road construction will be completed as soon as possible, it will be connected with East-West highway, inter-province smart bus terminal will be constructed in Birgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj and state-level buses will be operated. Jayanagar-Janakpur-Bardibas rail service will be extended and Rajbiraj-Siraha-Khajuri-Bardiwas-Chandranigapur-Kalaiya-Birgunj train service operation process will be taken forward, direct connectivity train service from Janakpur, Birgunj to Delhi and Kolkata in India will be initiated, air service from Janakpur and Birgunj to Indian cities. 

The concept of trying to operate has been put forward.

Similarly, under the education ‘Let Madhes read, Madhes teach, good schools are our schools’, the goal is to establish and operate engineering campus, medical campus, law campus, and fine arts campus are included.

Construction of hospital, yoga centre, provision of ambulance, etc. has been prioritized in each ward and municipality. It also mentioned that women will be empowered, education campaigns will be conducted, social inclusion will be maintained, child development - street children management, respect for senior citizens, language culture, campaign against drugs will be carried out.

The President of Nepali Congress Madhes Pradesh Krishna Prasad Yadav along with the party leaders had released the manifesto in a programme on Sunday. He said that the five-year development strategy and action plan were mentioned focusing on the upcoming elections. 

Nitesh Kumar Gupta, a leader of ruling Nepali Congress here, informed that the Congress has included prosperity, model development-friendly planning, education, health, development front line, agriculture and irrigation and also citizens’ feelings in the resolution.
