Kathmandu, Oct. 22Mahapurush, the film by legendary actors like Hari Bansha Acharya, Madan Krishna Shrestha and Gauri Malla, is all set to be released  in the local cinema theatres across the country on October 28.

In its released trailer, lead actor Hari Bansha Acharya is shown willing to get married in his old age. He is portrayed as a widower who raises his children as a single parent but feels lonely in his old age and seeks companionship.

After the release of its trailer,  many have speculated that the film tells the story of Hari Bansha himself.

After his first wife Meera Acharya passed away in 2011, he married Ramila Pathak in 2012. At a press meeting on Thursday, Acharya said “I was sure that this question will be raised, but this film will tell a story related to people who feel lonely and need a friend rather than my story.”

He further added, “A small part of my life, in which  I lost my wife,  matched the film, other than that nothing  of the film is about my life.”

Acharya said, “My sons were big and they were busy in their works. I had a feeling that when my sons were  busy, I would be alone so in the advice of my sons I got married.”

“After marriage, my life became easier and I was able to return to work. My sons got a mother, I got a life partner,” Acharya added. “If I had not married than, I would have regreted it now,” he added. Pradip Bhattarai, the director and writer of the film, said that while making the film, we should be aware of Hari Bansha’s  image because he played many masterful characters meticulously in his life.

“The melancholy and lonesomeness that came in the life of Acharya  after the death of  sister-in-law Meera can match with this film, but the film tells the story of everyone who are living in loneliness after departure of their near and dear,”  said Bhattarai.

There is something different for Acharya in this film. He had done a film workshop for the first time in his acting career. “I have done many films, but I have not done any workshops I got a chance to do a workshop in this film,” said Acharya.

He said that during the workshop, he got an opportunity to look at his weaknesses. “During the workshop I tried to get into character. Some things do not match. The workshop made it easy for me to build my character for the film,”

he said.

Mahapurush does not tell the story of a male character but the story of a man who is suffocating in loneliness, added director Bhattarai.

Rabindra Singh Baniya, Rajaram Paudel, Arun Chhetri, Anjana Baraili, Siru Bista, Kopila Thapa, Shikha Tamang, Kabita Shrestha, and Naresh Paudel among others have done the film.
