Kathmandu, Oct. 18: The government has declared October 18 a public holiday to mourn the loss of centenarian Satya Mohan Joshi.Issuing a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced that all government offices, public organisations and Nepal’s diplomatic missions abroad would remain closed on Tuesday to grieve Joshi’s demise.
The government has also decided to fly the national flag at half-mast on the day.Historian and culture expert Joshi passed away on Sunday at the age of 103.
