Dr. Koirala's Hridaya’s regular edition launched

Kathmandu, Oct. 17: The regular edition of   'Hridaya' written by senior cardiothoracic surgeon Dr.  Bhagwan Koirala was released at Nepal Academy on Saturday.  

The special limited edition of 'Hridaya' was released on September 13.

Writer Buddhi Sagar also recited some poems from his poetry collection  'Buddhisagar Ka Kabita' on the occasion. His new poetry collection was also announced at the event. 

The programme also featured a special musical performance by Anil Shahi and his group.

Making a critical comment on Koirala's book, scholar Ram Lohani said that the book ‘'Hridaya'’ presents not only the problems, solutions and related issues of Nepal's health sector, but also the struggles Koirala underwent in his life. 

He also said that the book would provide a special motivation to all.

According to publisher Fine Prints, the book is available at Rs. 650 in Kathmandu and Rs.575 outside the Kathmandu Valley.

So far, about 600 copies of the limited special edition of the book have been sold, according to Fine Print. 

The book continues to be sold and the money collected from the sale of 2,500 copies of the special limited edition of  'Hridaya' will be spent in the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) construction project. Likewise, 50 per cent earning from the regular edition will also be spent for building the same hospital. 

 Names of all supporters who purchase the special edition will be included in the inscription of the hospital. 

Koirala said that every reader who reads ' 'Hridaya'' will invest in the children's hospital under construction in Bansbari, Kathmandu.

Dr. Koirala and a group dedicated to child health have taken the goal of building children's hospitals in all seven provinces along with Kathmandu. 

Fine print said that they have taken only a small initiative to make this large project successful.
