Lumbini, Oct. 17: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand Sunday said that the government has pushed ahead the processes to fulfill the demands put forth by the Nepal Communist Party (Biplav), CK Raut-led Janamat Party and Tharu Kalyankari Sabha.
Minister Khand made it clear that a Cabinet meeting had decided to proceed with the process of amending the law if there was a need to make amendment to any law to bring these political parties into the mainstream and establish peace in the country. He made this remark while speaking at a function organised in Rupandehi today.
The parties which could have joined the mainstream of peaceful politics have been demanding unconditional release of their cadres arrested during various protests, and implementation of the agreements reached between the government and them on different dates.
Similarly, the Minister said that the five-party alliance was formed for the protection, development and prosperity by safeguarding democracy and the constitution.
He claimed that the alliance was created to make the life of all Nepalis easy and meaningful, to guarantee education, health, employment and development.
He also urged all the political parties to cooperate in conducting the elections in free, fair and peaceful manner.
Stating that many votes were invalid in the local elections held in May, Home Minister Khand stressed the need for paying special attention to voters’ education programme.
