Kathmandu, Oct. 14: ‘Kalinga Literary Festival’ is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on October 15 and 16. Many artists, painters, filmmakers and writers from Nepal and India will participate in the two-day literary festival. The organisers informed that more than 200 writers from the two countries will participate in the event named India and Nepal: Journey of Civilisations and Search for the Soul.”
According to the organisers, literary writers from Nepal and India will give various presentations at the festival. Ranjana Niraula, one of the organisers, informed that the literary festival would add a new dimension to establish the relationship between Nepali and Indian writers.
The festival will strengthen the literary relationship between Nepal and India, cultural relationship between the two countries and will help in the promotion and globalisation of art, culture and literature, the organisers said.
In the festival, 70 per cent of the speakers will be from Nepal and the rest from India.This festival will basically focus on Nepali art, literature and culture. Vyomesh Shukla, Piyush Mishra and Bollywood musician Raj Shekhar Malini Awasthi will perform at the festival.
Prominent figures of Nepal, including Tulsi Diwas, Bishnu Vibhu Ghimire, Ragini Upadhyay, Maya Thakuri, Jagman Gurung, Dinesh Adhikari, Prof. Gopal Bhandari, Vasant Chaudhary, Prof. Vasudev Tripathi, Ashesh Malla, Manju Kanchuli, Tiwari, Tirtha Shrestha, Ramesh Kshitij, Kanak Dixit, Archana Thapa, Ganesh Poudel, Bhagirathi Shrestha, Mahesh Vikram Shah, Maya Thakuri, Amar Neupane, Narayan Dhakal, Vijay Kumar, Dr. Gyanu Pandey, Kumari Lama and Dr. Savitri Malla will participate in the programme.
The festival is being organised in coordination with Yashasvi Pragya Foundation, Himalayan Dairy, National Literary Foundation and Nepal-Calling Literature Festival Kathmandu Edition.
