Kathmandu, Oct. 12: The government has paid over Rs. 668 million to several health centres across the country under the health insurance scheme.

Issuing a notice on Monday, the Health Insurance Board (HIB) informed that the money was reimbursed to over 200 health centres which provided treatment to the patients under the scheme.

A total of Rs. 668,155,688 was repaid to the health centres as per the Monday’s decision of the Board.

According to the HIB, the money was provided to the health centres on the basis of analysis and confirmation of the demands submitted to the Board.

It was the second payment made by the Board within the fiscal year 2022/23.

On September 7, 2022, the Board had provided Rs. 2,671,164,748 to 338 different health centres across the country.

Officials at the Board informed that it would take some time to confirm the details provided by the health centres regarding treatment under the scheme which  might result in a delay in reimbursing the money.

Similarly, the Board is also facing lack of enough budget to repay the health centres for their services.
