Kathmandu, Oct. 10: A week-long Kathmandu-Sikkim ‘Royal Enfield Bike Tour' kicked off from Sunday under the initiative of Balaju Bullet Bike Service Centre.
The trip beginning from October 9 will come to an end after returning to Kathmandu from Sikkim, India, on October 15.
According to Sanjay Mahapurush Budhathoki, promoter and coordinator of the tour and owner of Balaju Bullet Servicing Centre, the tour is being organised in a joint cooperation of Alpha Automotive of Triveni Group, the sole distributor of Royal Enfield Bike in Nepal, and the Kathmandu Legend.
Budhathoki said that the Centre has been organising such tour every year in different cities from Nepal to foreign countries.
“This year, the slogan of the tour is ‘Save the Soil’ as such tour will also help familiarise all the riders with soil and lifestyle of other countries,” he said.
He said that 25 bullet bike riders have taken part in the tour. Ramesh Awale is the chief guide and coordinator of the trip.
Starting from Kathmandu, the tour team passes through Sunsari in the east, reaches Sikkim via Kakarbhitta and Panitanki, a town in Darjeeling, and then enters Nepal through Pashupatinagar, the eastern border of Nepal, said Budhthoki.
