By Ajay Chhetri, Kathmandu, Oct 4: New currency notes worth Rs 56 billion has been exchanged to for the festivals.

Rastra Bank (NRB) said that the currency of small denomination worth Rs 16 billion and higher
denomination worth Rs 40 billion were exchanged during this period.
He also said that the notes exchange facility will be
stopped in NRB during public holidays but will resume from coming Sunday.
Meanwhile, banking facility will be continued except on Vijay Dashami (Tika) in the private banks. All the private banks have displayed notice on website of the time and locations of their respective branch to render banking facilities.
