Jajarkot, Oct 1:In view of Dashain festival, Nalgad Municipality in Jajarkot district has distributed food items to the poor households.
The beneficiaries--50 impoverished families of the municipality including from Dalit and Badi community--received food items such as, a sack of rice, a of liter of cooking oil, and two kgs of pulse each, said Man Bahadur Giri, chief administrative officer at the municipality.
He hoped the assistance would be a succor to the poor families during the festival. The poor families in the municipality, most of them landless squatters, have been living in makeshift huts. They rely on daily wages to run the families. Particularly, they have faced difficulties to manage foods and clothing during festivals as Dashain and Tihar. (RSS)
