Eight dead in Salyan jeep accident

By Our Correspondent, Salyan, Sept 28: Eight persons have died in the jeep accident at Mulpani in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 along the Rapti Highway early this morning.

Bipin Acharya, Chief District Officer of Salyan district, informed that the jeep with registration number Ra. 1 Ja 563 met with the accident.

Seven men and a woman travelling on the jeep died on the spot when the jeep slipped some 150 meters down the road.

Most of the dead are from Kapurkot 6. One injured has been rescued and sent for treatment.

The jeep was returning to Kapurkot 6 from Dhakeri of Banke.

The accident site is some 40 km away from Khalanga, the district headquarters of Salyan.

Damodar KC, Chief of the Salyan District Police Office, said preparations were underway to bring the bodies of those killed in the accident to the district hospital for post mortem.
