Parbat, Sept 26 : In order to address the problems of the passengers during the festivals, District Traffic Offices in Parbat and Solukhumbu have established passengers’ help desks at three places of the two districts.
In Parbat, the help desk has been set up at Shivalaya Chowk of the district headquarters, Kushma and in Solukhumbhu, they are established at Pattale and Jorbouddha.
The desks have been established to solve the problems that the passengers would face while travelling from the districts.
According to Sub-Inspector Suman Nyure, Chief of District Traffic Police Office, Parbat, the desk has been set up at Shivalaya Chowk, where most of the vehicles gather during the festival.
Nyure informed that a 24-hour help desk has been set up to address the problems of passengers like being cheated, losing their belongings, and control accidents.
According to him, complaints of passengers will be heard by police deputed from District Police Office and District Traffic Police. In addition, Nyure said that vehicles to-and-fro along the Mid-Hill Highway in Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang will be monitored.
“If there are any problems experienced by the passengers during the journey, they can report directly to the desk,'' Traffic Police Chief Nyure said.
Meanwhile, two passengers’ help desks have been established in Solukhumbu district.
The District Police Office has set up such help desks at Pattale and Jorbouddha with the aim of addressing festival related problems like cheating, unfair travel fares, ticketing and personal complaints of the passengers. Inaugurating the help desks, Chief District Officer Anil Khanal said that a special security plan has been made to celebrate the festival in a fearless environment in the district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Jung Shah said that passengers' complaints, vehicles, bus fare and the drivers’ documents would be checked at the passenger help desks before the vehicles leave for their destinations.
