Rukum East, Sept 8 : Raj Goman (King Cobra) found inside a house at Chhipridaha in Sisne Rural Municipality-6, Rukum East has been captured and released into the wild Tuesday evening.

After seeing the snake in their hiuse the family members and locals informed the Division Forest Office.

A team led by Jitendra Singh Khadka, head of the Division Forest Office, rescued the snake alive and released it into the wild.

The snake is estimated to be 10 feet long, weighing five kilograms.

King cobra is mostly found in the Terai, and it can live up to 2,200 metres above sea level due to some environmental effects,  but now it has also started living in the hilly areas, said Bishwa KC, Ranger of the Division Forest Office. KC said that the snake might have appeared for the first time in Rukum East.

The snake was taken and released one kilometre away from the place where it was found. "This is a very poisonous snake, but the incident of biting someone by accident is rare," KC said.
