Dhaulagiri music festival on Sept. 10

Kathmandu, Sept 8 : Dhaulagiri Sangeet Utsav and the second Dhaulagiri Sarstha Sammanis going to be held in Kathmandu on September 10.

Dhaulagiri Sanskritik Samiti is hosting the event. 

Chairman Krishna Sameep Subedi informed that the committee would present Dhaulagiri Literature Award, Dhaulagiri Sports Award, Dhaulagiri Journalism Award and Dhaulagiri Social Award this year, including the Dhaulagiri National Award, Sadhana Award, and Youth Award.

The names of the honourees have not been disclosed yet. 

Bimal Raj Chhetri, Bishnu Khatri, Kulendra Bishwokarma, Prakash Saput, Devi Gharti, Juna Shirish and other national artists representing the Dhaulagiri region will perform at the programme. The programme will include special presentations covering the original culture of Dhaulagiri, informed the organisers. 

Baglung's Nahari, Myagdi's Yanimaya, Parbat's Shiva Parbati Bhajan and Mustang's 'Thakali Naach along with thalinach, salaijo, Raumati baja will be major attractions of the programme.
