Kalikot, Sept 5 : Khandachakra Municipality of Kalikot has started home health services to facilitate elderly and disabled people having difficulty reaching the hospitals. Likewise, sick patients who are not able to visit the hospitals can also receive treatment at their homes.
Ravi Malla, a local stone patient, has been enjoying home health services for treatment. He said that it was the first health service with an X-ray facility available in the village. He recalled that he could not get better even after taking medicines. He was found with a stone when diagnosed. The doctor has prescribed him to take regular medicine and enough water, he added.
He said many elderly and disabled people were happy to get medical treatment and free video X-rays to diagnose their diseases. It felt like there is the presence of local level government in the village, Asala Sunar, a local, said, adding that the health workers’ team with the mayor visited them at home during the health campaign.
The health unit of the municipality has been conducting free health campaigns at different places. The locals had problems visiting hospitals after the roads at several places were blocked due to landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.
Rabindra Sejuwal, head of the health branch, said that the camp was being conducted on priority for those who are far away and unable to reach health institutions, senior citizens, women, children, and pregnant and postpartum women. According to Sejuwal, this campaign was continuing in different wards of the municipality.
Dr. Ramitanath Yogi and other staffers from the district hospital are providing services in the health camps of the villages.
