Rawat, Humla, Aug. 23: The first team of foreign tourists to visit the Kailash
Mansarovar of Tibet via Simkota this year has arrived here.
The
56-member team of pilgrims will head for Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet Autonomous
Region of China by way of Lapcha, Namkha Rural Municipality-6, in Nepal.

Lama, a local hotelier and tourism entrepreneur, informed that the foreign
religious tourists arrived in Simkot on Tuesday and that they would visit the
Mansarovar by Lapcha area which is located 5000 meters above sea level.
The
team will reach Mansarovar within 3 days.
The team will go to Lekdhinga by vehicle and then take
a helicopter to reach Takchi of Limi, and from Tachi, the team will go to visit
Mansarovar in a vehicle.
The season to visit Mansarovar has already started and this
will continue for two more months.
Shiv Raj Sharma, chief of the district coordination
committee, Bijay Bhandari, Chairman of Simkot Rural Municipality, and Sushila
Rokaya, vice-chairperson of Simkot Rural Municipality, among others, reached
the airport to welcome the first team of foreign tourists.
Some 1500 tourists had visited Kailash Mansarovar last
year via Simkot.
