Government announces national mourning over demise of Shinzo Abe

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 8: The government has decided to observe one-day national mourning for tomorrow on the death of the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's Press Chief Govinda Pariyar informed that a cabinet meeting on Friday decided to observe national mourning on July 9 as a mark of respect.

The Government has also expressed sympathy to the Government, the people of Japan and the family of Abe. 

According to Reuters former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the longest-serving leader of modern Japan, was gunned down on Friday while campaigning for a parliamentary election, shocking a country where guns are tightly controlled and political violence almost unthinkable.
