Akarshan and Laldhanush to send workers to Malaysia free of cost

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, July 7:  Akarshan International and Laldhanush International are going to take Nepali workers to Malaysia free of cost. Malaysia's Wistron Technology and the two Nepali manpower companies reached an agreement in Kathmandu on Tuesday to send workers at zero cost.

Malaysia is one of the prime destinations of foreign employment for Nepali workers. 

Wistron, an international technology company based in Malaysia, signed an agreement with the two manpower companies to take the workers free of cost. 

It means the workers need not pay any cost for the visa and travel to Malaysia. 

The agreement was signed by David, Deputy General Manager of Wistron, and Bishnu Bahadur KC, Chairman of Attraction International, and Dawa Nawang Sherpa, Chairman of Laldhanush International.

According to the agreement, Nepali workers going to Wistron Technology will be able to go to Malaysia through these two manpower companies free of charge.

The Malaysian company has stated that it will take 450 workers in the first phase. 

A hundred and forty women and 60 men will go to Malaysia through Akarshan and 175 women and 75 men from Laldhanush.

Deputy General Manager of Wistorn, David, said that the company will bear the entire cost of Nepali workers going to Malaysia after being selected. 

He said that there would be no discrimination between Nepali and Malaysian workers in terms of wages and opportunities as well.

Wistron, which is part of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), has industries in China, India, Taiwan, Mexico, the Czech Republic and the Philippines.

The company employs about 80,000 workers in various countries. Nepali workers will get a minimum salary of 1,500 Malaysian Ringgit. 

In addition to allowances and bonuses, there is also an arrangement for annual leave. It means that the workers will be able to earn a minimum of 2,421 and a maximum of 3,223 Ringgit.
