By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 18: Finally, the release date of Nepali movie Nalapani has been fixed. The movie will be released on October 21 on the occasion of Tihar.
Director Rimesh Adhikari unveiled the poster of the movie and announced the release date of the film, which received the Special Film Award from the Film Development Board.
The film is based on the historical battle fought by Bir Balbhadra Kunwar with the British at Nalapani Fort in Dehradun in 1814. Director Adhikari said that brave warrior Kunwar and his 600 troops exhibited their courage and bravery in the battle of Nalapani.
The film unit has said that the students and those in high positions of the country should also watch Nalapani as the film covers the story of Nepali heroism and the history of the Nepal Army.
The film is researched and written by Rimesh Adhikari and Krishna Acharya. Based on the book Nalapanika Nayak Bir Balbhadra Kunwar written by Prof. Dr. Dhanraj Kunwar, Ram Raja Kunwar and another book Sainik Itihas of Nepal Army, the film has tried to explore the battles that Nepalis fought with the Brtitish India Company 216 years ago to safeguard their motherland.
Artistes Desh Bhakt Khanal, Arjun Jung Shahi, Santosh Pant, Manoj Shakya, Bishal Pahari, Poojana Pradhan, Geeta Adhikari, Mahabir Bishwokarma, Ishan Biju Shrestha, Hikmat Thapaliya, Sharita Rajopadhyay, Laxmi Nath and Gayatri Ghimire have done the film.
