Suspected monkeypox patient sent to Teku hospital

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 16: A patient who returned from abroad with symptoms similar to that of Monkeypox has been admitted to the Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital Teku on Thursday.

The abroad-returnee male has been sent to the hospital after being found with the possible symptoms of Monkeypox at the health desk of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). 

Information Officer at the Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital Teku Nawa Raj Gautam informed that further check-up of the person is underway at the hospital.

"TIA health desk referred a male to the hospital today after finding rashes in his body parts that look like symptoms of Monkeypox. A further medical examination is underway," Gautam said. 

He added that whether it is Monkeypox exactly or not can only be determined after a thorough examination and tests.
