Earlier, two individuals were injured in leopard attacks in two separate incidents in Bandipur Rural Municipality on Sunday and Saturday.

A man was attacked Sunday morning while a child was attacked on Saturday.

According to Tanahun Distirct Police, 34-year-old Himlal Garanja Magar was attacked while he was sleeping on the ground floor of his house in Ward No. 1 of Bandipur Rural Municipality on Sunday.

On Saturday, a leopard attacked an eight-year-old child in Ward No. 4. Riyana Thapa, daughter of local Santosh Thapa, was the victim. Both the victims were discharged from hospitals.

However, on Tuesday the leopard attacked the minor and took to the jungle. When the family members and neighbours ran after the man-eater, it left the child and disappeared, said spokesperson for Bandipur Rural Municipality Shiva Kumar Shrestha.

He said the leopard killed the boy by inflicting neck injuries with its claws and teeth.  Issuing a notice, the forest office had requested locals to not allow their children roam alone and to clear bushes around their houses.

“Keep the lights on during the night in houses and sheds and shut doors and windows properly,” read the notice.
