Two tourists go missing in Khumbu

By Our Correspondent, Solukhumbu, June 15: Two foreign tourists visiting the Khumbu region of Solukhumbu have been out of contact for more than 25 days.

According to the District Police Office, 31-year-old man Sirnath Chandra Mohon of India and the person was last registered with the authorities at the Manjo Jorsalle check post on May 19 while 50-year-old woman Yeonhee Lee of Korea was last registered at Namche Bazar check post on March 20, 2022.  They have not been located since, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Jung Shah of the Solukhumbu District Police Office.

The police said that the Indian embassy in Nepal has requested them to help look for the Indian national. They have also learned that the Korean citizen has not contacted her family too.

Shah informed that all the police units of Lukla, Namche and Khumjung had been mobilised to look for the two, who came to visit Khumbu without a guide.
