Actor Saroj Khanal is now director

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 6: Actor Saroj Khanal, who is considered to be one of the talented actors of Nepal, has made his directorial debut with Bagan.

 Informing about his project, a programme was organised at the auditorium of Film Development Board on Sunday to realse the Intro Teaser and the first song Timro Sundar Aakha of Bagan.

The film has a mix of old and new actors including Khanal himself, Nir Shah, Basundhara Bhushal, Mithila Sharma, Karishma Manandhar, Akash Shrestha and new actress Pramila Karki.

Timro Sundar Aakha has lyrics by Suresh Wagle, music by Subhash Bhushal and vocal by Sugam Pokharel and Asmita Adhikari.  Aakash and Pramila are featured in the video of the song.

According to director Khanal, the song tells the story of the film.

Director Khanal said that he tried to apply the knowledge and experience he obtained while acting in films during his lifetime to direct Bagan. 

 He expressed his belief that the film he was directing could play a big role in social change.

Actor Akash Shrestha said that it was his privilege to work under the direction of an artiste like Saroj Khanal.

 He said that his role in the film is effective even though it is small. Similarly, new actress Karki expressed happiness for getting a chance to work with the legendary actors.

 Producer of the film Suresh Wagle said that he was ready to invest after he was touched by the plot.

The film features Gaurishankar Dhuju’s DOP, Utsav Dahal’s cinematography, Arjun GC, Rajesh Shah and Sandesh Shah’s editing. Renish Phago has color correction in the film. 

Karishma Manandhar is the executive producer of the film presented by Nepaliwebsite.com.

The production team has planned to screen the film in different countries where Nepalis are living.
