By Our Correspondent Mangalsen, June 2: Local levels in Achham have started constructing administrative buildings. Panchadewal Binayak, Chaurpati, Dhakari and Bannigadhi Jaygadh rural municipalities have started works to build their offices.
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Chaurpati Rural Municipality Ram Chandra Joshi said that they planned to shift to the new building by September as few works were still left. CAO of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality Padam Bahadur Majhi said that it was a multi-year tender and works were being done to complete the project as soon as possible.
The recently built administrative building of Kamal Bazar Municipality is being used as a lab for PCR tests and land is being searched for a new building. Though the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Turma Khad Rural Municipality's administrative building is completed, works are being delayed because of indecision over whether to use stones or bricks, said CAO Prem Bahadur Budha. Bannigadhi Jaygadh Rural Municipality is in process to start works as DPR of the buildings is ready.
In Ramaroshan Rural Municipality, works are being hindered as they could not agree on where to build the building even though land and budget is ready. The services of the government are being hampered due to a lack of administrative work, according to the staff.
The locals have blamed the people's representatives for the delay, saying that they could not even build an administrative building in their five-year-long tenure. Almost all 91 wards in the district are using public buildings, schools as ward office. Only Mangalsen Municipality, Sanfebagar Municipality and Mellekh Municipality are providing services through modern buildings.
