People aged over 68 years to get senior citizen allowance

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 29: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that social security allowance will be provided to senior citizens above 68 years of age from the next fiscal year.

FM Sharma said so while presenting the annual budget for fiscal year (FY) 2022/023 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament. 

Earlier, the senior citizen allowance was given only to those who have reached 70 years of age.

The people who have reached 68 years of age and obtained Nepali citizenship at that time will receive the senior citizen/social security allowance.
