Int’l sports village at Gaindakot

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, May 25: Government decided to build a BP Koirala International Sports Village at Gaindakot. 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari said this while reading the policy and programme for next fiscal year presented by the government at the joint meeting of Federal House.

"The construction of Fapla International Cricket stadium will start next year. Government will also coordinate to complete the Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium in Chitwan.

“The government will give continuity to construct at least one international stadium in each province, sports village in all local level and high altitude training centres. The guidelines to distribute prizes, allowances, insurance and emergency financial assistance to the players will also be made.”

“To hone the skill of national players, national and international level training and tournaments will be provided. The government also aims to establish sports clubs in every school of the country.” The policy and programme also included organising the international tournament in Adventure sports next year.
