Vote counting resumes in Bharatpur, settling dispute over stamp

Shaligram Nepal, Chitwan, May 15: Vote counting has resumed in Bharatpur Metropolitan City settling the dispute over the stamp on the ballot papers.

An all-party meeting held to settle the dispute decided to approve the vote if the plus area of the swastika sign is clear on the election symbol.

According to the Maoist Centre representative, Gopal Neupane all agreed that the vote will be approved if a plus sign appears to be seen on the ballot paper.

Before the stall of the counting, 5,177 votes had been counted. Of the total vote counted till then, the mayoral candidate of the CPN (Maoist Center) Renu Dahal had secured 1,866 votes and UML's mayoral candidate Bijay Subedi was following her with 1814 votes.
