By Our Correspondent Nepalgunj, May 8: Narainapur Rural Municipality, in Banke district, has seen exemplary implementation of election code of conduct among all the local bodies in the district.
Resham Acharya, the Returning Election Officer in the municipality, said that the local body had conducted several election campaigns lawfully. “The status of implementation of law here is better than any other municipality for the nearing local polls,” he said.
He added that the parties and candidates were working hard to ensure full compliance of the code of conduct and that he was happy to see the code of conduct being obeyed properly. “Other local bodies, however, have violated the code of conduct.”
Acharya also said that the Office of Election Officer verbally pointed out the general flaws in the election-targeted activities of the parties and candidates. They are vigilant in implementing the election code of conduct. “It has become very easy with the help of everyone.”
In Narainapur, the parties are actively cooperating to abide by the code of conduct and the police have also been very active.
Candidate for the post of chairperson Ishtiaq Ahmed Shah said that all the cadres and supporters have been seriously instructed to abide by the code of conduct and that the candidates of other parties were also cooperating well in the task.
Similarly, another candidate for the post of chairperson Ram Chandra Maurya also said all the leaders and cadres had been given strict instructions to follow the code of conduct and compete the election in peaceful manner.
Meanwhile, Chief Inspector of Police Bir Bahadur Sunar of the Area Police Office Bhagwanpur said that monitoring was tightened to observe whether the code of conducts was implemented or not.
He added that all the parties and candidates are committed to holding the election in a peaceful atmosphere.
