The Elements is a prominent experimental pop trio consisting of Ishan R. Onta on vocals and guitars, Dipesh Gurung on drums and Raunaq Singh Adhikari on guitars. Their debut single ‘Tesaile Hidey Ma’ was a sensation initially airing as a part of the Arbitrary Original sessions in February 2018.
Their second single ‘Sapana Ko Mayalu’, released five months later from the same platform, an ambient romantic ballad submerged in escapism allured further listeners their way. This was followed by the premiere of their third single ‘Thula Thula Sahar’ on September 2018 and a month later their participation in the Tuborg Open Sessions with the indie-rock anthem ‘Birsiney Hau Ki’, astounding over 20 million viewers till date, published from Channel Arbitrary in YouTube.
And their fifth single ‘Maya Bhanchan’ was released in December, 2018, from the same series; both the live performances featured two other dapper session musicians Daniel C. Subba on keys and Pratick Baniya on bass.
The trio established their official YouTube channel on 2020 and further released six singles the same year: ‘Putali’ on April, ‘Dhaka Topi’ on May, ‘Simana’ on June, ‘Gagan’ on August, ‘Aakha Ramaye’ on September and ‘Aparichit’ on October.
The year 2021 witnessed the group release two singles the inter-personal darker themed tune ‘Khoj’ in April and the power packed politically charged ‘Sawari’ in November. Only a month after, on December 25, 2021, the group published their most recent five track album Urja via all major platforms.
The album launch gig for Urja was held in the premises of 5150 Productions on December 11, 2021, to a conclave of devoted Elements followers’. The album was crafted on the hills of Kau Danda, where the trio escaped from the shenanigans of the city life, to a calmer, natural hive for a more spiritual and organic compositional chemistry.
Recently, the band published the official music video for their title track ‘Urja’ on April 23, 2022, the video in a few days has garnered a lot of positive response and is currently #21 trending content for music on Nepal based YouTube streaming service. With the hope of adding values and passion to the lives of their audience the band teamed up with Guitar Shop Nepal to present the video.
Directed by Robin Sharma, the storyline sways the audience to the everyday life of a millennial protagonist and his relationship with his parents, the ups and downs, the inevitable fear and much more.
Alongside the video release, Elements also announced a full-fledged Nepal tour from April 25 to May 11.
Currently on the road, the band has already performed at Lanka, Birtamode, on April 25; Borderland, Kakadvitta, on April 26; Vintage Family Resort, Dharan, on April 27; The Last Leaf, Damak, on April 29; Carpe Diem, Biratnagar, on April 30.
They are all geared up to burn the stage at Calm, Kathmandu, on May 2; Sutra Lounge, Hetauda, on May 4; Lime and Lemon, Chitwan, on May 6; and Lord, Butwal, on May 7. They will be concluding the tour at Paradiso, Pokhara, on May 11. So be sure to catch the band live at the most convenient venue for you.
