Kathmandu, April 29 (RSS): The cleaning staff at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been found to be involved in gold smuggling.
A total of 2.332 kilogrammes of gold was being smuggled via TIA. The cleaning staff, used as puppets, were found to attempt smuggling yellow metals worth around Rs 20 million from TIA to outside last Thursday.
According to the Airport Security Office at TIA, security staff arrested five cleaning staffers who were trying to smuggle gold, according to SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal.
SSP Dhakal shared that two cleaning staff, a supervisor, and two others involved in the smuggling were nabbed. Further investigation into the case is underway.
