Tipper hit kills one, injures one in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur, April 26  (RSS) :   A person was killed while another was injured when a scooter was hit by a tipper at Chardobato of Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur along the Araniko Highway this morning.     

The deceased has been identified as the two-wheeler rider Gyanendra Malla Thakuri, 32, from Bethanchowk of Kavrepalanchowk and currently residing at Chagunarayan municipality-3. According to Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur’s deputy superintendent of police Raju Pandey, the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 8581) en route to the Nepal-Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital from New Thimi hit the scooter (Ba Pra 02-023 Pa 7769) heading towards New Thimi from Gatthaghar.     

Pillion rider Bimal Shrestha, 33, from Myagdi and currently residing at Chagunaryan-3 is being treated at the Madhyapur Hospital. Following the accident, police have apprehended tipper driver Tul Bahadur Sapkota, 36, from Ramechhap district. Further investigations are on, police said.
